Registering at an online casino is more than just a routine step; it is a juridical and technical requirement that distinguishes the “demo mode” status from the “playing for real money” mode.

Here are the main reasons why online casinos require you to create an account:

Playing for real money and financial transactions Betsixty

This is the primary reason. A casino operates as a payment hub that accepts deposits and pays out winnings.

Payment identification: The casino must know the destination for payouts. Without a linked account (tied to an email address or phone number), it would be unfeasible to determine who the winner is. Security: If real-money gaming were anonymous, anyone with access to your computer could steal your funds. An account protected by a password keeps your balance secure. Payment ledger: Your user dashboard tracks all deposits and withdrawals, which is essential for settling disputes with customer support.

Identity verification

This is a statutory obligation (aimed at) combating money laundering and underage gambling.

Age verification: Gambling is generally restricted to individuals aged 18 or older (21 in some countries). During registration, you verify your age, and at the first cashout, you are required to provide proof, such as a photo of your passport. Anti-multi-accounting: Casinos strictly prohibit users from creating multiple accounts to exploit bonuses. Registration links a player to their specific identity and device. If the system finds two accounts sharing a name, both will be banned. Anti-fraud measures: If your account is compromised, having verified data allows customer support to recover access to you—the legitimate owner—rather than a hacker.

Bonuses and loyalty programs

The online casino industry is a highly competitive market. To attract you, they offer gifts—but exclusively to registered members.

Welcome bonuses: Free spins and bonus funds—awarded at signup or a first deposit—are credited exclusively to your personal account. Cashback and status levels: The refund rate and VIP privileges are determined by an specific player's betting history. Guests cannot collect “reward” points. Tournaments: Participation in competitions with prize pools is available only to registered players.
